These lists are basically silly but here is one sites opinion on the best occupations. I don’t really accept the methodology used as providing anything very meaningful about the “best jobs” but at least the spell it out. Best jobs
- Mathematician
- Actuary
- Statistician
- Biologist
- Software Engineer
- Computer Systems Analyst
Their criteria really value being able to sit at a desk and not having to do physical work. High salary and limited stress are also significant factors.

I’d have to agree about the Software engineer one to be low on stress. Apart from deadlines you do not get constantly harrased and micro managed by the boss. I have been a computer systems analyst/engineer as well and that was not as much fun as you have to deal with people more and they can wear you down eventually. Good list.
Oh.. computer programmer not in the list..? Anyway interesting info.. John
I have a classmate in college who took BS Mathematics and ended up as casino dealer.
That is different between people abilty in mathematics that have divide in two categories. It is what we call right brain and left brain. Right brain is for memories and left for mathemathics. So, right brain cannot be advance in mathhematics like left brain..
