RoboCup aims to, by 2050, develop a team of fully autonomous humanoid robots that can win against the human world champion team in football. As the video shows the teams have a ways to go. But this seems like a great process.

Stumbling over this website, I wanted to point out that the RoboCup 09 will take place in Graz, Austria. It seems that city is proud of the fact ^^. Stay tuned.

The idea of humanoid football team by 2050 is somewhat scary. The rate at which AI’s are being developed is astonishing as well. I have been exploring this in relation to architecture (my personal interest) but had not been exposed to the “RoboCup.” It’s definitely something I will keep my eyes on. Thanks for the link.
Totally floored by this. I hope the project succeeds and maybe one day replace these over paid football players in the US!!! Robofootball would be some awesome!! robobowl2050? Keep up the great work. Definitely going to blogthis vid and bookmark.
