Automatic Dog Washing Machine

I think this is pretty cool; I’m sure some will object though. It was “designed by a team of veterinarians and engineers to clean the dog very very well. Its very very safe.” You probably can’t afford one for your house though: it cost $30,000. The
The Dog-Washing Machine is available in France and elsewhere, too (the video above is from Vancouver, Canada).

The brainchild of French entrepreneur Romain Jerry, the Dog’O’Matic takes about 30 minutes: 5 minutes for the actual washing with soft jets of water and a mild shampoo and an additional 25 minutes for drying with warm air.

A French reporter tried the invention with her own dog, and though the pooch initially tried to jump out of the machine, the dog quickly calmed down once the process started and completed the wash.

I imagine some will react emotionally that it must be mean because a machine sounds mean. I don’t really see why it must be mean. Plenty of people pay others to wash their dogs and the dogs jump around and bark and shake when they are getting lathered up. That isn’t cruel, I don’t see why this would be.

Hahaha, I don´t think 30.000 bucks for a dog washing machine is a good investment! I simply put my chihuahua in the shower: works like a charm! I agree with you though, it´s not cruel at all!

Truly one of the strangest things ive seen in a long time. The dog did not look to eager to get in but did not seem to mind to much once inside. I have an Old English Sheepdog that is a real chore to wash. I would give it a try. For $20 you cant go wrong.

He he, what will people come up with next! It was hard enough to wash my Gorden Setter, I think we would have gotten the silent treatment for the day after putting him through the machine!

My dog had to stand under the ice cold outdoor tap. She hated it….lol…I think she would have prefered that machine any day.

I’m not sure how to react to this. Stick your dog into a machine? Are our pets laundry now? I’d rather wash my dog myself or if it were so much of a hassle I would employ a dog washing service to wash my dog via person. The concept of putting my dog into a machine just doesn’t sit well with me.

It cost $30,000 I can’t afford this. All I need is a water pipe and a piece of cloth to do this. But I am sure Celebrities will love this.

i’m in the pet products industry and i’ve seen alot of ‘mad’ inventions but this takes the biscuit. It hasn’t arrived on our side of the pond yet (UK). We write about a lot of new pet products on the market but this one surely has to be tried and tested before it gets near the retailers for the safety of the dogs. Is it really just over engineering a problem thats been solved by a hose pipe, bath or shower, it only takes an extra few minutes. I dont think the human version would have any success do you?
